Castaway Villa

Come the middle of February, there is nothing this Minnesota girl wants more than to jet away to somewhere warm! Castaway Villa on the coast of Turks and Caicos would do more than fit the bill.  I love the mix of modern elements and rustic island touches in the home's decor, but the infinity pool, outdoor shower and secluded beach are leaving me in a daydream! And that water! Oh the water. And an average high of 81°F in February! Tour the rest of the home and get the rental details over here! (Maybe if we all chip in???)

Have a great weekend! Stay warm out there! :)

Becki Peckham

Beautiful and cozy, that might be one of my favorite combinations! Located on an oceanside bluff in Newfoundland, Canada, the charming home photographed by Becki Peckham of Adventures of The Uncommon Common Law definitely has coastal flair with the the sea-inspired walls (painted Raindance by Benjamin Moore) and beachy accessories. But I love the relaxed, country vibe going on too–the chicken wire on the kitchen cabinet is a cute touch! How great it would be to have such a large kitchen and fab appliances, not to mention huge island (painted Gray Wisp by Benjamin Moore)! You can tour the rest of the lovely home and learn the sources from Becki's Houzz article here!

Meredith Bohn Interior Design

Showhouses are always so inspiring! Meredith Bohn, an interior designer out of Hollis, New Hampshire, designed this elegant master bedroom and bathroom from the 2012 York Historical Society Designer Showhouse and it's filled with great ideas, all captured beautifully by photographer Greg West. I love how she used the Farrow & Ball "Silvergate" wallpaper throughout the space, but created panels to improve the proportion of the room–and make it more accessible! The paint colors are serene and beautiful, and look fabulous with the gold! And of course, I am loving the subtle coastal touches, perfect for the home's location in Maine! To see more of this project plus other great designs from Meredith, head over here!

Heather Scott Home & Design

After seeing the gorgeous showcase house yesterday, I had to learn more about the talented interior designer. I was so happy to discover the portfolio of Heather Blue Harkovich of Heather Scott Home & Design filled with these fantastic blue-infused rooms! I wish I could magically transport myself into that sunny breakfast area with the comfy slipcovered furniture and blue ceiling! I love how that area, along with the kitchen, family room and dining room harmonize so well together! There's lots of eye candy left to see, so definitely check out the rest of Heather's portfolio! Oh and in addition to her design services, Heather and her husband Scott also own a retail store in Austin, Texas! Looks like a must-see if you're in the area!

Southern Living Showcase House

When I first saw the Southern Living Showcase Home on Always in a Southern State of Mind, I thought it looked like something you'd see in South Carolina! Nancy quickly cleared that up for me though...the home built by Silverton Custom Homes and Henley Homes is actually in the great state of Texas overlooking Lake Travis. Heather Scott Home & Design did an awesome job capturing the charm and beauty of the southern lakefront lifestyle. I love all of the neutral colors accented with subtle beachy blue/greens and the fabulous rustic touches–the beams are fantastic! Head over here for lots more photos...the bathroom and views are especially breathtaking!

Texans: If you're in the Hill Country area, the Southern Living Showcase Home is still open to tour until February 24th!
