Charmean Neithart Interiors

You know you have a special kitchen when Julia Child spent her childhood in the home! The current homeowner Kristin Harrison spent two years renovating the space inside the 1909 historic home located in Pasadena, California. She worked with interior designer Charmean Neithart and architect Warren Techentin to create a charming space with vintage authenticity combined with modern amenities! The real show-stopper for me is the beadboard ceiling, painted the most delightful shade of aqua (Benjamin Moore Bali)! Houzz had a terrific article all about the kitchen–including a 'before' shot and all the sources, along with more photos by Erika Bierman...so check that out here!

Have a great weekend! I'll be thinking of everyone in the Northeast...stay safe in the storm!!

Hutker Architects

When I think of Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard, it's always shingle style homes that come to mind! The Cape Cod architecture and interior design firm Hutker Architects shows us there's so much more diversity going on. The firm has designed over two hundred homes in coastal New England, all of which avoid a single style. I have such a fondness for sleek lines and open spaces, not to mention huge windows everywhere, so I immediately fell for this project. What I love most is that they incorporated fun colors (turquoise and pink? My favorite!) into the unique design. How cool is that coffee table?! Finish your tour of the home with more photos by Brian Vanden Brink right over here!

And if you love coastal New England design, definitely check out Hutker Architects book Heirlooms to Live In: Homes in a New Regional Vernacular

Oh, to live on the coast of South Carolina! Wouldn't this Isle of Palms beach home be an absolute dream to live in?! The incredible home was designed by Herlong & Associates, a Charleston architecture firm specializing in coastal custom home design, residential renovations, and interior design. These great photos by Warren Lieb leave me wanting to move in pronto! All my favorites here...a serene sand and sea color scheme, comfy furnishings, rustic touches, fab lighting and awesome architectural elements! There are so many great details in every photo, and if you head over here, you can eat up even more pictures of the home!

Colorful Colonial Revival Home Tour

I love how turquoise ties this whole house turquoise! Featured in Better Homes & Gardens, the colorful home was built in the 1920s, but a fun and fresh color palette and a mix of antique and contemporary pieces bring it right up to date. I just love that sunroom with its striped sofa, the sunny breakfast room with the Roman shades, and the comfy family room where all the colors from the home come together! Lots more photos to see, so head on over here for more of this home!

Christopher Rose Architects

Not only is this home designed by Christopher Rose Architects incredibly beautiful, but it was also the first home on Kiawah Island, South Carolina to receive LEED certification for its sustainable construction methods and materials! I'm just loving the great room, photographed by Jim Somerset, with its aqua-colored walls (Teresa's Green No. 236 by Farrow and Ball)...they look amazing paired with the navy and white furniture, not to mention creamy kitchen cabinets! The French doors and fab coffered ceiling are great too! For more impressive residences designed by Christopher Rose Architects, head right over here!
