Ever since Stacey of Quintessence shared a sneak peek of this gorgeous kitchen designed by Young Huh, I've been dying to devour the images in the November issue of House Beautiful! What I love most is that it reminds me of one of my happiest places on Earth: my grandma's kitchen! My grandparents lived in a century-old farmhouse in Iowa (where my aunt and uncle now live) and I feel like this captures a lot of the same spirit. It's no wonder, this circa 1900 home was renovated to have the same humble and homey feeling of the homeowner's childhood home–with modern amenities of course! The color on the cabinets, "Teresa's Green" by Farrow & Ball, looks up to date but still has that charming, old-fashioned vibe. Just perfect all around! And don't you love the dog peeking through the screen door?! See the photos by John Hall, which were styled by Gregory Bissonnette, and read the entire article over at House Beautiful!

Very charming indeed!
I loved seeing this kitchen in House Beautiful and could stare at it all day. The only thing I'm not completely sold on is the different pendants. They mentioned that in the Q&A that accompanied the photos, but I have a tough time wrapping my brain around it.
Very lovely kitchen. Love the quirks of the space, and the stray away from matchy matchy.

I love the cabinets and the pendants!
I want to jump into that kitchen and steal that amazing pine island! So pretty!
Oooh great cabinet color. Fun, but not too crazy. Also love the cabinet clasps (don't know what else to call them - pulls? handles?) in brass. Very pretty!
It speaks of sweet nostalgia. Love the use of fresh colours here Erin. That old distressed table in the island center is so charming. Interesting use of hanging pendants.
Your family farm's roof doesn't happen to be turquoise does it? I live in Iowa and I see a white farm with teal/turquoise roof and everytime I drive by it I want to stop and look at it! Amazing kitchen I would like something like that!
Such a pretty kitchen!
Woah, simply amazing! Lovely kitchen indeed...
A very laid-back and pleasing kitchen that generates nothing but good mood. I bet preparing food in this place is so much fun!
Thanks for the mention Erin - I of course thought of you as soon as I saw it! Young did such a fabulous job!
