Historical Concepts + Steven Gambrel - Part Two

So this is the spectacular loft of the home from Friday!! Designed by Historical Concepts and Steven Gambrel for the Cottage Living Idea House, this upstairs is all about fun! I don't think I've ever seen anything more comfy cozy than the pillow-lined nook with the built-in daybed! All the fabric there is Sunbrella, so you know it's totally durable...even the dogs could join in on story time! The turquoise sliding barn door is my other favorite detail, I'd love to find a place for that in my home! All in all though, it's such a fun, laid back space perfect for hanging out or doing art projects. Or taking a nap!! For more photos from Marco Ricca and Cottage Living, check out Friday's post with the rest of the home!

You can see lots more projects by Historical Concepts over at their website, or check out their book Coming Home: The Southern Vernacular House!

Paint Colors (by Benjamin Moore)
Walls: White Wisp 2137-70
Trim: Aurora Borealis 565
Sash and Doors: Waterfall 2050-50

You are so right. This does look like fun. A wonderful space. So colorful and comfortable. A perfect place to read, take a nap or snuggle with the family.

I remember that house, couldn't forget that loft bed, would love to lay up there reading.

The colors are yummy, especially that turquoise door and table in the next shot.

These are such unusual colors for Steven Gambrel to use - I'm stunned. He's done it well, of course, as always (and I'm glad to see his ability with 'bright') but it's going to take me a minute to get used to it!

A lot of fun to look at, though!

I'm just dying over these colors. What i'd give to read by that light streaming in the windows.
