Phoebe Howard

I could spend hours sifting through the portfolio of Phoebe Howard. It seems every time I get drawn into her dreamy world I discover something new. I recently read a Q&A in the Washington Post where Phoebe talked about her design philosophies. A hallmark of her style is the use of color in a monochromatic way. Even if the colors are vibrant, when you limit color contrast, it brings a sense of calm, order and serenity to a room. She even shared some of her favorite paint colors: Benjamin Moore's Glass Slipper (one of my favorites too), Healing Aloe, Vale Mist, Cream Fleece, and Winter Wheat. If you're a fan, I'd definitely check the article out here. And to see more of this blue beach home, head right here!

Emily Ruddo

I'm certain that if you've taken a look at the new (and awesome!) issue of High Gloss magazine, you too fell in love with the feature on the home belonging to LA-based designer Emily Ruddo of Armonia Decors. I've shared her work before here and have met Emily in real life, so seeing her work published is very exciting and well-deserved! Besides being an absolute sweetheart, I just adore her unique blend of East Coast elegance and West Coast style. Photographer Meghan Beierle-O'Brien did a stellar job photographing her space. I love all of the details she captured! An inspiring story along with even more great photos await for you at High Gloss. And bless her heart, Emily has been posting a ton of behind-the-scenes photos and sourcing all the cool things you're lusting after over on her blog!

Cullman & Kravis

The portfolio of renowned New York design firm Cullman & Kravis features page after page of beautifully luxurious rooms, filled to the brim with impressive art and antique collections. These more relaxed rooms, with their sand and sun color palettes, captured my heart most. I just can't stop looking at that first room. All of that sun pouring in those amazing windows, the blue chairs, and the fabric on that tufted chair...I wish I could be sitting at that table right now! See more fabulous rooms right over this way!

Happy 4th of July!

Just when I didn't think I could love it any more!! Remember the week-long Dream Home Tour we took a couple of weeks ago?? Since those photos were taken, my reader Cristi and her husband Jeff put up shutters painted the same fab color as the door and the garage, Benjamin Moore's Wythe Blue. Doesn't it look amazing?! Another round of applause to the builder Morgan Hatfield of Hatfield Homes and Cristi's photography at Hiya Papaya! If you missed the tour, check out all five days starting here.

I'm delighted to be a guest blogger today at two fantastic blogs! The one-and-only Tobi Fairley asked me to put together an "All-American Design" themed post for her, in turquoise of course! Then visit me over at the creative haven DIY by Design where I'm sharing a few of my favorite readers' rooms. Come and say hello!

To all of my readers in America, Happy 4th of July!! I hope you have a wonderful, safe holiday weekend! See you on Tuesday!
