Arden Stephenson

It's been a very snowy, cold winter here in Minnesota, and seeing this beautiful Nantucket home designed by Arden Stephenson of ARDEN Interior Architecture & Design instantly leaves me wishing for summer! All those ocean blues and sandy neutrals evoke long, sunny days at the beach. Anyone else getting a Something's Gotta Give vibe from the space too? See more of this, and other amazing spaces designed by Arden right this way!

And with that, I'm now heading down to Iowa for my last Christmas celebration! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! :)

Laura Ocampo

Soooooo pretty. Can't you just hear the waves outside those windows?? Laura Ocampo designed this light-filled seaside home in the countryside of Uruguay to reflect the coolness of the sea and relaxed atmosphere of the countryside. I'm loving everything in that first room...the flowy white curtains, the pretty purple toile, the painted white floors and ceiling, and the soothing aqua on the walls. The entire home is a total escape though. See more of it here!

Turquoise Striped Floor

I never get tired of looking at perfection! One of my favorites of 2010 was this Arkansas home designed by Tobi Fairley. I've already shared images from the home, including this breakfast room with you before (how could you forget the Marjorie Skouras chandelier!) but I was excited to find more images of the kitchen in Tobi's portfolio. The painted hardwood floors are absolutely fab-u-lous! (They're painted Wythe Blue by Benjamin Moore and Wool Skein by Sherwin-Williams.) The result is playful and unique, but the perfect color selections make the room beautifully serene too. LOVE!

Turquoise Subway Tile Alert!

It would be hard to start they day out crabby after a warm shower in this cocoon of soothing, beautiful color! This Sag Harbor, NY cottage featured in This Old House magazine belongs to interior designer Allison Babcock. Along with her husband, they renovated the 1880s cottage to have a breezy, summer-house feeling year-round. The bathroom was the real showstopper for me, but you can see more pics of the charming home here!

Swedish Kitchen

Happy New Year!! I can't believe it's 2011. Wow! I thought I'd start off the year with this cool Swedish kitchen I spotted on My Scandinavian Retreat. One of the owners of this vacation home work for Ikea, so pretty much everything you see comes from the store. I love how they painted the Ingolf chairs turquoise. (Why don't I ever think to do that?) Head on over at Hus & Hem to see more of this summer home!

Oh summer...why'd I have to say that word...
