Modern Beach House

Thanks for all of your awesome suggestions yesterday!! I didn't know I could get any more excited, but I did! I'm going to be in heaven on the sandy coast of Massachusetts. Sometimes I wonder how in the heck I can live in Minnesota when the sea is constantly beckoning me! (Although it helps we have our 10,000 lakes!) This home from Better Homes & Gardens reminds me how easy it is to bring the beach home, where ever you happen to live. Can you believe all of the homeowners fantastic collections? I'm loving the vintage globes, aqua pottery vases and collection of paintings in the bedroom. The vintage map of Cape Cod is perfect (and timely too!!) See more images right here!

The color palette is amazing in this place. It's os peaceful, but not boring.

The more I see places like this one, the least I'm prepared to let summer go. I'll miss it! :-)

I love how relaxing this house looks...

So serene and beach perfect...

Love the wall with framed pics,

and the map and globes and little mementos of different places
lets us know that the owners love traveling... love that in a house,
when the personality of the owners are reflected in the design.

Erin--these images totally transport me to a wonderful place! My husband and I spent 10 days this summer doing the Maine, Rhode Island, Massachusetts circuit, and every place we visited was absolutely dreamy. You are going to have an amazing time--enjoy every moment!

I am in love!! That map is so beautiful! I have a thing for maps, but I especially love the amount of water in this one because that means more blue! When San and I went to Duluth for our mini-honeymoon, I became fascinated by all the art of sailboats and ships that we saw. I love them so much, so I really love the gallery wall with tons of them! I have a feeling one might make its way into our gallery wall we are working on for our living room.

Hi, I live in Massachusetts. I have always loved this photo of the Cape Cod map in the frame. I have never seen a map quite like it. If anyone knows where I could find a map like that, I would love to hear from you. Enjoy your stay in Massachusetts.

This beachy, tranquil home is absolute "medicine" for our harried lives. I would like to steal the second room pictured room and plop it right into my home.

I have loved this house for a long time and have several pages of it in my file.

But I had not seen that map before with the turqoise background. So lovely.

Thanks for my daily pick-me-up.

I see pictures of sailboats all the time in thrift stores and yard sales and I always want to buy them, but then my brain says....wait, where in the world would put 'this or that picture'? I love how they put all those frames and sailing p'tures together on one wall....what guts!

Hi , I love you pictures- I came across your wall because I`m looking for inspiration for our remodel on the bay. We do have something in our kitchen you would probably love: beach blue vintage looking appliances from The Big Chill company (fridge, gas range with hood and dishwasher). I will take pics and post soon. I love the globe collection and I`m inspired to make a driftwood mobile!
