"Is this heaven? No, it's Iowa."

I have a soft spot for country homes, especially ones in Iowa (where I was born.) The homeowners of this 1923 Craftsman bungalow spent 8 months renovating their home featured in CountryHome magazine. They wanted to maintain the house’s Craftsman style but give it a lighter look, which they accomplished by tearing down walls, adding windows, and bringing in white tiles and paint. And plenty of breezy, beautiful blue! You know what's cool?? The owner said everything from windows to countertops to flooring came from their local Home Depot, including some great special orders. I love it! See more photos, including what it looked like before, right over here!

I'm thrilled today to be a guest blogger over at my friends Chris Ann and Kristin's blog LoveFeast Table. Actually it's their fabulous newly redesigned blog! In celebration of their launch, they asked me to be a guest at their table and share with their readers about my blogging journey and love for turquoise. Moreover they are giving away a breathtaking Turquoise Tree of Life Necklace designed and handmade by Liz Oie. You won't want to miss out on your chance to win here!

I like the bedroom with the mix of wood tones (finished, unfinished) and the rustic nightstand. I also like the pattern mix in the slipcovered chairs in dining area.

Heavenly Iowa, I'd say! :-)

Wow!!! So nice to see you beautiful blog, Erin... I was taking a break last week. The bigger I get (I'm 22 weeks now), the less energy I have to stay online).

I'm wishing you a very blessed week, my friend.

I love the ingenuity of these homeowners doing these beautiful rooms all from Home Depot. They did a great job.

Wow, all at Home Depot?! That is fabulous. When you have a good eye you can find gems anywhere and this is proof. My favorite element of the home is the dog's space...how cute that his bed was built-in. Soothing, calming and welcoming are words to describe this home.

FINALLY, a home with beautiful unpainted wood trim that has walls that aren't creme, yellow/golden, or green!! This house is absolutely gorgeous, modern, and perfectly renovated!I have been feeling so frustrated looking at tons of pics with beautiful white trim & molding only to dislike my own wood trim more & more. I now have the inspiration I need move forward and go bold with my wood stained trim! Thank you!

would also love to know if anyone knows the paint colors used...especially the one in the kitchen nook with the dog house. Also - LOVE those curtains. any idea about them, too?

According to the designer, the bedroom wall color is "southern breeze" by Behr. It doesn't look exactly the same in person as it does in the photo, but it's still a nice color.
