Interior designer Tim Clarke out of Santa Monica, California is known for taking classic motifs and interpreting them in a fresh way. I adore his modern beach home style...free and light, nautical without being kitschy. Tim's retail store in Santa Monica, Tower 20 Store, reflects his coastal modern aesthetic so even us land-locked (and freezing cold) folks can infuse our homes with sophisticated, beachy style. See more of his work over at Coastal Living, and his website!
Thanks you guys for all your sweet birthday comments for my dad yesterday!! He got such a kick out of reading them! :)

That fun fabric used for drapery is just gorgeous!
Ohhh Myyyy! I swooned in that bathroom. And once recovered I can't say which of the following I like best. Wonderful! Gorgeous!
I actually contacted them about the second photo when it came out in the magazine a few months ago.. I loved that tiny sectional so much, but I wasn't able to get a price on it!

That bathroom is amazing, but my favorite design element is definitely the Roman shades. Pretty fabulous! :)

Wow, I can recognize my home turf at a second's glance -- I knew those pics were California the instant I looked at them, and that pic of the balcony and chair with ottoman sure looks like Malibu.
I love that he named the pieces in his catalog after well-known surf spot/beaches! I've lived in Balboa, Newport Beach, and Huntington Beach (off Bolsa Chica), so seeing pieces with those names made me smile, as did the Trestles chair with the nailhead trim (makes me wonder if he used the nailhead as a sort of homage to the incredibly rocky beach there?). I was, however, dismayed not to find a piece named after Mavericks!
Yay that your dad enjoyed all the birthday wishes!
Best,
Kimberly
The bathroom makes me smile!!

That four-poster bed - tried to find it on Tim Clarke's website but didn't see it. Can you direct me to it? Thx.
Teija,
LOVE that bed! I didn't see it in the catalog anywhere, and have no idea about it. I'd try contacting Tim and see what they have to say!
