If you guys don't already follow Simply Seleta, you should start. Seleta is a mother of 4, with fantastic sense of style (and the cutest kids and animals ever). I promise you'll love all of her stories and the inspirational images she shares, especially the photos of her home. Take her foyer above with a new facelift...isn't it perfection? She designed the cabinet herself, and had it built when they were redoing their kitchen. It's painted Benjamin Moore Wythe Blue (with heavy distressing). The accessories add a ton of personality and organization too (you can read all about them on her blog here). I also included her laundry room, because the curtain fabric (China Seas leopard pattern) is fab-fab-fabulous!
When Kellie of Ada and Darcy posted the first photo yesterday, I crossed my fingers there'd be even more goodies behind her link. Oh boy were there...talk about a total smorgasbord of delight!! My heart can't handle this! The post at the blog Avolli was actually titled "Turquoise" (how about that for luck?!) Tricia found these images of a Stockholm apartment where the designer with a love for India combined her passions to create a unique take on Swedish design. I seriously cannot get enough! That armoire?! "I die".
After learning about Wendi Young Design over at Desire to Inspire, I immediately headed over to her website to take a look at her portfolio. It blew me away...I love her California-cool style! All the rooms are filled with so many amazing details, you really get a sense that they are real homes with stories and life! You have to check out her portfolio because there are some AMAZING outdoor rooms you'll love!
I fell madly in love with this floor when my reader Meghan from Regina, Saskatchewan sent me these photos. She and her husband just bought and renovated their first home, relying on a strict budget and inspiration from the design blogosphere. The couple spent the last 3 years living in Halifax, Nova Scotia going to school, so the their porch is their ode to the coast and to the ocean-side cottage they can never have on the prairie! (I hear ya sister!) I know you are all wondering what paint she used (Cloverdale oil paint "Aqua Infusion" - #7506). Don't you love the red from the retro table and chairs?? Red, white and turquoise, my kind of 4th of July!!! I hope you all have one fantastic and safe holiday weekend!!! :D
Pretty sure those hutch doors would always be open if I had this delightful secretary desk in my home! Talk about a surefire way to guarantee smiles when putting dishes away though! I love the little blue boxes too...so cute! Via nice*room
