Lonny & Angèle Parlange

Imagine my absolute delight when I saw this Manhattan home belonging to writer and designer Angèle Parlange featured in the recent issue of Lonny. It's pure heaven for any turquoise lover! The fabulous space actually used to one of my design idols, Steven Gambrel. He is the one responsible for the lovely Benjamin Moore Dophin's Cove in the bedroom framed with the green border (BM Mint Julep) and glossy black doors. I'm completely smitten with the antique desk in the living room that Angèle had covered in pink leather. And does that funky white coffee table remind anyone else of that Pink Ruffle Cake from Martha Stewart? For more design ideas and eye candy, check out Angèle's book, Creole Thrift: Premium Southern Living Without Spending a Mint. And for more info and photos of her home, visit Lonny!

I love the contrast of the black brick fireplace and the black doors- I also love how she was not afraid to interchange both black and white as contrasts to the turquoise- lovely!

I posted on a turquoise arts and crafts project I did with my monkeys over the weekend- if you are interested in taking a look:

I love the black gloss fireplace! The inside seems to be gold! How did they do that? I know there is high temp paint but I have only seen it in black. Don't tell me that someone sat in the fireplace and put goldleaf on the old bricks ? ?

This place is FABULOUS! Loving almost everything about it. Love the gloss black details, but for the life of me, cannot figure out why I HATE it on the fireplace (though noticed, as Christie did, that the INSIDE of the thing appears to be GOLD, which is wonderful!); but can't think what I would've used instead of the black, other than perhaps building a wood fireplace surround and painting it turquoise, too!

Absolutely ADORE the entryway chandelier (my favorite shape, French Empire), and did you notice that the chandelier in the bedroom appears to be the Sara, but with the glass globes inverted?

Obviously, someone with A LOT of money lives in this space. New York real estate is so statospherically high priced, and so are their designers! They did a great job with the space, though, I could vacation there quite easily!

Oh, and forgot to mention that I love the memo board with the ornate frame in the bedroom so much that I want to marry it! Just call me Mrs. Memo Board in Ornate Frame! LOL!
