Diamond and Baratta

If anyone knows how to make a strong statement with turquoise, hands down it's Diamond and Baratta. I've shown you the vibrant home from the first image before (how could you forget it?), but I just came across the foyer and had to share it too. That chandelier made my heart stop! The other entrance I found on Absolutely Beautiful Things is from another Florida home designed by these two color geniuses. Granted we might not want to live in either home, but how fun to look at or visit. You just have to hand it to these guys for taking such bold risks!

Thanks for all your great suggestions yesterday about my upcoming trip to New York! You guys are so awesome! :)

The first photo is a little over the top for me but I love the carpeted stair runner! Sort of reminds of of Alice In Wonderland style foyer.

Talk about making an entrance! I think somebody with a big ego should live in that house. Pretty colors, big statement:)

OMG! My retinas! They've been scorched! Wow, those are some saturated colors, and they are beautiful, but way too much for me. I think I would get tired of them real fast, and/or feel the need to wear sunglasses indoors all the time if that were my house. That said, the chandelier is really pretty, and I do like the hallway in pic 2, especially the carpet. -- Kimberly

The house was a cover story for a House & Gardens a couple years back. I couldn't stop looking at it then, so many amazing, eye-popping choices. Thanks for reminding me how much I love bold color.

* Oh my gosh, Erin... that certainly is one DARING n' GUTSY set of choices made by them!!!

It reminds me of the FUNNY scene from Father of The Bride, Part II, where George & Nina Banks (Steve Martin & Diane Keaton) are told "they're pregnant"... Steve Martin can't BELIEEEVE it, & also says people like THEM don't HAVE kids THIS late in life (!) & that they were about to be GRANDPARENTS, for God's sake!!! ... Their Dr. smiles, shrugs & calmly states that PICASSO fathered a child when wellllll into his 90's... Steve's reaction is... "Well, that's OK FOR HIM!!! I mean, he's an ARTIST... they're SUPPOSED to do crazy things like that!" (or words to that effect)...

Same goes here... "THEY" can "get away with it" because of their great reputation, legion of followers and apparent willingness to "go where no man has gone before!" (so to speak!)... Good for them, but did someone actually move IN to this home or was it a showcase or something?

Thanks,
