I can't resist sharing this fun retro kitchen I spotted on The Kitchn! The young owners of this 100 year-old home near downtown Columbus (on East Tulane Road) have spent the last two years working hard on their fixer-upper. They've done all the labor themselves, and if you go check out this gallery you'll see the dramatic difference in the before shots. I love that they chose to preserve some of the original features of the space...the sink was refinished with fresh porcelain enamel and they had the steel cabinets painted a cherry red (and a new plate made for them too!) The glass tile and walnut counters are new though, and look great in the space. In case you're wondering, the walls are painted "Aquatint" from Sherwin-Williams...don't they look fantastic paired with the red?! Head here for more great pics and all the source info f0r the room! And with that, enjoy your weekend everyone! :)

Wow, what a nice way to kick off my Friday! Love the turquoise and red combo. Also, your blog is amazing! A blog about my favorite color?!! So glad I stumbled across it.
I don´t like red kitchens- but in this combination it´s full of happiness...
Holy Happiness!!! That color combination ROCKS!!
oh i love it!
I'm in love! There is nothing better than a turquoise and red kitchen, especially when you throw in a little black and white!

I love it when people take a risk with design and just follow their hearts. Clearly this couple did just that. Bravo. Love it.
It's so bright and happy! There's nothing like a pretty retro kitchen to end the week on a high note! :)
Oh WOW! I want this kitchen!
This is so unique and how fun for a young couple. Love it!
all it need for perfection are some chair cushions featuring all three colors, black, red and turquoise, to really tie it together. very cute!
Like two of my favorite slushy flavors combined!
I love turquoise and red, but I feel this is not well done. I think that specific color of turquoise is off in that context.
Honey, you are surely speaking my language with these bright spots of red!

I Love it! I use the same red/turqoise combo in my own kitchen and adore it!
Well organized, exciting and relaxing at the same time! The psychology of color at work!
I love the turquoise! Many times the color can be overwhelming, but here there is a perfect blanace!
Very unique!
I really love it. So cute.
Great pics. Love the combination.
Oh your pictures are always so perfectly made just for you!!! This color has taken so many by storm, and I am so on board. My friend here in Minneapolis is going to paint her kitchen just like this with turquoise and white, leaving the vintage red tiles. SUCH A GREAT CHOICE!
ENJOY THE WEEKEND! Anita
AAaHH! I love your blog! I love turquoise too- in decor, jewelry, clothing....the pictures you have posted are fantastic, I love each and every one. Come visit my blog- I recently featured my love of turquoise in a coffee table I rehabbed. I have it speckled throughout my home, and will be featuring more pics soon. :)

Love it!!!
Love the colours here. So brave but what a gorgeous outcome! xxx
Soooo cheerful and fun! I think I would actually WANT to cook in here. :-)
FULL ON FABULOUS!
I imagine food prepped in this cheerful, colorful space tastes better than food prepped in a dreary space. Love the colors, love the glass tile, on the fence about the walnut counters, love the fabric. So much space and such creative uses throughout! That little bar over the window adds some functionality in a very cool way.
Oh i have to remember to send you a pic of our kithcen that is turqois with red furniture. Like a little gem of color!
