Ooh la la! This sitting room designed by Benjamin Dhong is a meditation on winged flight. Located in the tower attic of the 2010 San Francisco Decorator Showcase, the room was inspired by a romantic Parisian garret. I love the serene vibe of the space, it really feels like a cozy nest (albeit an incredibly chic one!) The fabrics on the pillows are scrumptious and add the perfect pop of color to the room!
Just the words 'tower attic' themselves conjure up images of all things romantic, whimsical and mysterious!
The shape of the room is jaw dropping.... I'd love to cocoon myself away in a room like that for days (someone could bring me hot tea, big bowls of soup, and scones and jam and cream - my comfort foods).
Love the cushions (as usual - lol), and also the eclectic mix of objects and the way he's displayed them.
The blossom branch on the window is gorgeous! I see the blossoms are ceramic?? Now, I seriously could do with quite a few branches of those at my place... my fascination with all things 'tree' would get real delight from those.
Totally love your blog and inspiration.... always read but dont often comment....sorry.. Gorgeous post as always.. Congrats on your "cementing" with your partner.... just as well he loves Turquiose or he would have to have the boot I think....LOL!!! I have been searching high and low for new Decorator Fabrics in Aqua / Robins egg tonings... just wondering if you have seen any around... and names?? I have been using your blog for lots of inspirational ideas for renovating... Just looove Phoebe Howards work...so thanks so much for the link.. I found her thru you blog... :) I live in Rural Aus... (so not easy to find gorgeous fabrics...) Thanks so much for so much inspiration in my fave colour too! Lou xx
Oh...my.....word....I absolutely love this room. The first picture is absolutely stunning. The art with the blue lamp shades and of course, those pillows! Sigh...Thank you...so much! xoxo Lila Ferraro
I love the beautiful wall finish in the room. It looks like it might be a Marmorino finish. The finish really fits the feel of the room. Also great mirrors they are just lovely.
What a fabulous mood the designer has created in this room. Man, I should've gone to this decorator showcase -- but thanks so much for posting these photos for those of us who didn't get there in person :)
So atmospheric! So much feeling in such a small space. Stunning!
I was going to point out all of the different elements that I appreciate in this room... but then I realised I actually appreciate ALL of them! The painting, the textures, the colours... it doesn't feel overtly styled! I love it!! :) Hazel
Ooh la la right! Love everything about it! The shades of turquoise/blue are my favorites, and I actually made two pillows in that same shade for my sofa. If only I could replicate everything else about this room!
The ol' brain had to process this for a while - it is almost beyond description. Could this be the perfect room?
Color, texture, pattern: In a word, flawless.
Thank you so much for finding and sharing these photos. This is one of those rooms that will linger in my memory for years.
The BF is going to kill me if I start redecorating the living room over the holiday weekend - but I'm not sure that I can stop myself after seeing these photos!
I really love the mix of gold and dark gray with deep turquoise. I also love the way they mixed mostly traditional decor with that very modern looking wing chair!
I’m Erin and I am obsessed with the color turquoise. I started this blog to collect inspirational photos I find of fabulous rooms that feature all of the lovely shades of my favorite color. Hmm...zebra and turquoise...two of my ALL TIME favorite elements! I'm riding the "serene" train, too. :)
Just when I'm wondering if my zebra rug is "out" I see something like this...LOVE~
