I'm constantly asked what my go-to paint colors are, and it's so hard to say because I actually have no experience painting...the definite disadvantage to renting! It's beyond me why I didn't think to do this sooner, as in YEARS ago, but better late than never. I need your help! In the comments, I'd love it if you could share your favorite turquoise-ish paint colors. Bonus points if you link to images either from your home, or anywhere else you've seen it used!
My loyal reader Mustang got us started:
- True Turquoise by Glidden
- Cool Aqua and Poolside Blue by Benjamin Moore
- Aqua Chiffon by Olympic Paint
- Nifty Turquoise by Sherwin Williams
- Beach Sparkle by Valspar
Thanks you guys, I can't wait to hear what you have to say...this is going to be awesome! :)

I love Rainwashed by BM.
In my house, I have BM Palladian Blue, & BM Woodlawn Blue.
GOTTA LOVE BM. !!
I had a heck of a time trying to find the perfect pale aqua for my living area, the lighting would change colors dramatically. Palladian blue looked like a baby blue denim type color in my home. So I finally found one at Dunne Edwards called Silent Breath, but I had to have them mix it at 50% just to lighten it a bit. But now I am very happy with the color so it was worth all of the quarts and samples I purchased. I wonder how Rainwashed would have looked....
I love the bright cheer of Alicia's craft room ! Great color - fun and happy !!!!!

I love SW Rainwashed and BM Palladian Blue. I just posted a living room painted in Pratt and Lambert's Nickel - it's more blue than green though. Anything on that P&L chip - 25-25 to 25-32 (soft blue/green/grays) are beautiful colours - more muted and grayed down though.
I adore Sherwin Williams Watery! I painted Isabella's room this color and I like it because it strikes a nice balance between being a bright and clean color without overwhelming the space.

I'm working on our playroom right now and I love the color...Valspar's Sea Breath.
Thanks for this post! I have been looking for an turquoise color to paint my apartment.
Does anyone know of a nice low VOC turquoise paint color?
I NEED that laundry room! I thought of you when creating my post this morning. I went to a great house that was decorated in turquoise.
:) Marcie
I really like the color of our bedroom dresser- Woodlawn Charm by Valspar.

My kitchen is painted in Palladian Blue and I love it! I also really like the Rainwashed color in your photos.
I used Turquoise Mist and Subtle Blue by Olympic paints in my living and kitchen areas. LOVE them.
My bedroom color is "hyacinth" by Sherwin Williams, and it's the first thing people comment on when they walk in my room. It's a soothing shade of turquoise, and I love it! Fun post, Erin!
Ohhh I love them all, but "Rainwashed" is my favorite( what an aptly named color for a laundry room ! ) XO, Lisa
My whole house is done in Rainwashed. I'll be posting photos on my blog soon of my kitchen remodel where it looks spectacular!
It is so soft and inviting. I love it.
I love Arctic Blue for the walls and Blue Bonnet for the ceiling (both by benjamin moore)
I recently used Cooled Blue by Sherwin Williams. It's just a shade darker than Aqueduct and so rich on the walls. Hope to have photos soon.
i LOVEEE river's edge!
How fun to see Liz Levin's bedroom from an earlier post at Simplified Bee! Thanks!
Love the nursery w BM Robin's Nest.
Fun post!
xo,
cristin
Love all of those. I used "Tidewater" by SW in my bedroom. Very soothing. Painted my kitchen cabinets "Oceanfront" by Ben Moore. They are bright and refreshing.
they are all wonderful, but rainwashed makes me swoon - i need to paint a room that color!
I love your site. I've never commented before that I can remember, but I follow you. My favorite is the Rainwashed by Sherwin Williams. In fact, that is the color we chose to paint our first floor (the whole first floor is open - a great room, morning room, front hall, etc). We bought a sample can of it and have paint swatches painted in each room right now, but haven't had the funds yet to buy all the paint. It was fun to see that laundry room posted. Thanks! I LOVE that color!
another lover of rainwashed here...
but have fallen for "Lagoon" by Martha Stewart...
painted the base cabinets for my craft room desk lagoon (an old art deco vanity taken apart with an early 1800's door on top)
sunwashed blue by Ralph Lauren - it's what's in my bathroom that you've already seen -

Ohmagosh, there are so many good ones! Palladian Blue looks awesome. I need to make a correction: Aqua Chiffon is actually Olympic paint, not SW. Sorry.
Thanks for the nod.
Oh I have no idea how you choose from these!! But I think I like Rainwashed best- it's so serene and elegant.
Thanks for the great post!
Caro
Ben Moore's #456 (North Shore Green) and #457 (Icy Morn) both make for the PERFECT aqua/robin's egg color for spaces that need a more toned down color than a bathroom or kids room. The dining room and kitchen in my over-100-yrs-old home are painted Icy Morn and it's heavenly.
For my living room, I did a color match to Glidden's Westerly Wind in a higher quality paint. The results are lovely!
See the color here: www.housebeautiful.com/cm/housebeautiful/images/blue-bedroom-2-0307-xlg.jpg
PS - In fact, I found the color in a 2005ish issue of HB.
We used BM Spring Rain in our dining room. It was a great aqua without being too bright...the perfect soft Tiffany blue. It's just lovely!
Another vote for BM Woodlawn Blue:) Great post, Erin!!!
Try Benjamin Moore's "Sweet Dreams" Like being in the clouds on a sunny spring day!
This is for 1MadScientist
The Natura product from Benny Moore uses a zero-VOC base and zero-VOC colorants. It truly is zero-VOC.You can pick any Benny Moore color.
I had a pregnant customer use Natura this past weekend and with her "pregnancy sensitive nose" she said there was no paint smell by the end of the evening.
Great ideas from all the comments.
Don't forget your ceilings-some of the lightest turquoises make a great complimentary and reflective ceiling color. Then you get to use two great colors instead of one.
Benjamin Moore - Tropicana Cabana
Here's a link to see it in living color...actually two different places in my house.

I'm obsessed w/ that bathroom. Functional and pretty!
BM Crystalline:
It ranges from gray green to aqua depending on the light in our TV room

I'm generally a big fan of Benjamin Moore paints. As for a particular color, grab the samples and tape them to your walls...one on each of the walls in a room and see how the color looks morning, noon and night. How does it look with natural light vs. lighting fixtures? So many elements change the color of the paint...it's how it looks in your home that counts. Have fun.
LOVE the "Waterfall" photo!! Some of my favs have always been the Restoration Hardware greens and blues. My old living room was their Silver Sage, and I just LOVED it. Will have to dig out pictures someday!
I have "Morning Sky Blue" by BM in my bathrooms and master bedroom. It's similar to "Rainwashed".
I love all of the paint colors you have pictures. There are so many great shades of turquoise out there!
I have Pratt and Lambert's Azurean (which I think is discontinued, but I'm sure it could be color matched), in my bedroom.
It's in the post below, but you have to scroll down a bit to find those pics.

Spring Mint ~ Benjamin Moore
The color of my Art Studio of course :)

Not an ugly color in the bunch, but Rainwashed by Sherwin Williams is my fav. And I'm SOOOOO happy that Sherwin Williams has stores here in Argentina!!!
It's not actually on the walls yet, but I'm painting my nursery-to-be Olympic's Turquoise Mist.
I'm a Beach Sparkle (Valspar) fan! I'm in the process of painting my kitchen cabinets and they look fabulous! Thanks for the inspiration to go with color instead of white!
http://wiscombe.blogspot.com/2010/05/sneak-peek.html
Turquoise is probably one of the most popular decorating colors of the decade.Anyway, I love all the colors and the FABRICS!
I had a devil of a time finding the right turquoise as well. I eventually mixed my own, and it turned out beautifully. I grabbed an empty 5-gallon paint can, added three gallons of the most opaque white I could find and then I added blues, greens and a little pale dove gray until it was perfect.
'They say' to only blend colors outside in natural light, but I disagree. I say to only mix it in the room where you will use it. Outdoor light had no bearing on my upper hallway. Mixing it outside can give a totally different effect once it's on the wall.
Now, if someone can tell me how to make those beautiful pale turquoise walls, white beadboard and black and white staircase not clash with the fire-engine red that my husband used on the foyer doors, I will be eternally grateful.
Hi 1madscientist
Olympic also offers a Zero VOC formula for all your favorite colors! http://www.olympic.com
Makaha by Pratt & Lambert as seen here :)
http://www.houseofturquoise.com/2010/03/joni-webb-and-color-healing-radio.html
Also loving that Rainwashed!
I love "Water 02" by Yolo Colorhouse. Zero VOC and really lovely soft color.
Behr's Spa Retreat
Love all the photos. My favorite aqua is Antiguan Sky 2040-60 by Ben Moore. It gives you the feeling of the carribean ocean. Rich color but soft...winner every time!
I see that a lot of people love "Rainwashed" by Sherwin Williams. I love the color one step darker on the same strip, "Quietude". This color is a little richer than Rainwashed, which can look too pale and baby blue for me. Quietude looks a bit greener and more aqua.
We used SW's Aquaduct on the exterior of our Tybee Island beach house, THE BREEZE INN, which is featured in the June issue of Better Homes & Gardens. All our interior ceilings and one bathroom are painted BM's Morning Sky Blue.
You can see pix at www.breezeinncottage.com
Turquoise is the delicate blue-green color seen in its namesake gemstone, a deep desert sky or the crystal clear Caribbean seas.I love this combination. Anyway, Thanks for sharing this article.
Does anyone know a Benjamin Moore color match for Sherwin Williams rainwashed? or even something close...thanks.
Best ever: Farrow and Ball Green Blue. For something more muted, try Behr Silver Sage.
I have had a terrible time finding the right aqua for our master bedroom. We have high vaulted ceilings and it's a large room without crown moldings, and not enough white trim to set off the deep aquas because it's just a huge expanse of walls and the light isn't as bright as most of the rooms pictured here. I love how Rainwashed and other aquas look in these photos, yet they are all too dark for our bedroom. I tried a bluer shade with the same depth of pigment and spent $450 only to pay another $350 to cover it up because it was way too dark, and now we're going to try again. I think I'm going to use the light color next to Rainwashed on the swatch, which is Window Pane. I know a designer who likes to put that color on ceilings, and it reflects a lot more light than Rainwashed.
Also a lover of Glidden's True Turquoise. Vibrant and beautiful! I used it in my craft room with a bright orange! http://proudgrits.blogspot.com/2010/07/where-magic-happens.html
I have used and loved BM Palladium Blue and SW Watery. I also like Winter in Paris by Valspar. Now I am excited to try Rainwashed!
Awesome blog and much more beautiful every rooms Picture but especially bedroom Interior decorating to much beautiful Awesome work.
Interior Painting
Not bad at all...Colour is best for living room.
window shutters clayton, ca
I just painted my whole downstairs Aqua Chiffon by Olympic paints. I adore it. Planning to put some orange curtains up in the living room, and yellow and black in the kitchen. Here is a peek.
Silver Sage (by Restoration Hardware) is a beautiful greyed-out aqua. It's almost neutral. I've had it in my living room for several years and still love it.
Appreciation to the writer from my side for the turquoise paint colors information that has given on this page. Nice work
The post is showing your favorite turquoise paint colour here
Outstanding post however , I was wanting to know if you could
write a litte more on this subject? I'd be very thankful if you could elaborate a little bit further. Appreciate it!
