Tobi Fairley

If you've seen this month's House Beautiful, you've surely drooled over this home in Fayetteville, Arkansas designed by Tobi Fairley. I must share it here for those of you yet to see it (and for my own collection, of course!) I love the glamour of it all. But the living room just takes the cake. All that blue!!!! I honestly can't pick my favorite feature...the furniture, the walls, that glorious rug... it's all incredible. I also appreciated what Tobi said..."I wanted to wrap the living room in layers of pale blue tones without a lot of contrast. If you use color devoid of contrast, it becomes almost like a neutral." Very good to know! :)

Tobi Fairley is amazing! I featured these same photos yesterday and how they relate to Spring 2010's fashion trends! Check it out when you get some time!

All of the rooms are gorgeous with their limited contrast, but I guess I'm the kind of girl who likes contrast, so I don't think I would be completely comfortable in them, but most specifically the living room. I think if maybe the sofa were just a tad darker or lighter it would be the amount of contrast I would need. Don't get me wrong, these are amazing rooms, but I prefer blue when it pops with an accent color.

Great post, once again, Erin!

Can I give a shout out to Tobi for the dramatic use of wallcovering in the foyer. It makes the room so opulent while also bring the scale down to be more intimate. Amazing!

You learn something new everyday in Blogland - the comment about using colour devoid of contrast almost creating a neutral, looking at the top two photographs this is so true!!! Never seen that before!!
