Catskills Cottage

Ever since I was a little girl, I've always dreamed of having a tiny little cottage in the country. I imagine it to look a lot like this. A New York couple spent 7 months renovating this cute 700 sq ft cottage, which was their first home purchase. I bet it was a dream come true for them too! The home reminds me a lot of Martha Stewart's Lily Pond home from the outside (see it here). And for even more pictures of this cute little Catskills cottage, head over to the NY Times!

The use of the lighter green with a cool undertone together with a green with yellow tones (the old fashioned fridge) is very interesting - it really works. The living room picture is delightful. To my clients who are married to the concept of matching sofa and scatter cushions, here is a perfect example of how to use scatter cushions to bring in inexpensive interest, pattern and a punch of colour to a room. Please, please ditch those overstuffed matching scatter cushions! :) Thanks, Erin, for inspiring me yet again!

LOVE that fridge! And the counter/table/bar with bar stools on the far wall past the stove is just the inspiration I've been looking for in our kitchen! Oh, and the patio, too:) Can I please take a vacation in this house??

This post came at a perfect time! If you check out my post for Think About It Thursday that I posted today, you will see that this house looks just like my dream house. I would maybe change a few things here and there, but it has the feeling and gives off the exact vibe I want my home to give off in the future - fun, playful, bright, happy, vintage, and simple!

Into my inspiration files it goes...

Wow...Cuteness!! I wouldn't mind at all living in this 700 foot cottage. Seems so light & airy and reminds me of a cottage in Washougal Washington that I rented along a river when I was 21.

Awsome!
