Cheerful Living

The renter of this home featured in Connecticut Cottages and Gardens wanted a fun, positive vibe for a new chapter in her life. Interior designer Janet Hiltz of Healing Barsanti successfully created something sophisticated, cutting edge and feminine for her. I love the big, bold prints and bright colors against the more traditional wall colors that were required to remain. That turquoise and pink fabric by Quadrille is fab-u-lous!! A neat story goes along with the home...check it out here!

Oh I love that top room. I love how the base of the room is very neutral with taupe on the walls and stark white trim but then you get those great pops of color with the turquoise and pink! Now I'm all inspired to go find some great pillows and accessories because my living room is alot like that. Maybe I'll follow your lead and check out Pier 1!

What a fun home!

Say, did you see that turquoise is THE COLOR of 2010 according to Pantone?

Thanks doll,

I just read Liz's story, what an amazing lady. These rooms do have a fun, positive outlook about them. I wish Liz all the best. I also love her caramel and white bedroom. The Cottage & Gardens publications look wonderful. Kathy.

I would like to rent space in photo #2, or at least sit in one of those chairs and have a drink!

Both rooms are really unique - but the first room is unlike any I've seen. I love the bright colors with the brown walls and white accents. It's really interesting and fun!

The big, bold patterns completely catch my eye. I especially love the turqoise chairs complimented by the black, studded ottoman...and, of course, that zebra print rug!! You're right, it really is a neat story!

Beautiful!

However, what's with the rug in the first picture? Is it a runner? A 3x5? It seems so small for the space.

I don't think I've ever used the phrase "OMG" in my life-- until now. Drop. Dead. And really not what I'd call my "style"-- but maybe it's time to change my style because I think it's stunning!

I love that top room a lot. Genius how they've combined bright white accents with that rich wall color. I especially love that little mirror with coral or whatever it is around it.

I think what I really like about these photographs is the feeling that you know it's an American interior but has a British quality too! One of my favourite hues!

The wall color on the top pic is just what I've been looking for for my bedroom.
