I'm sure many of you have seen this image from Martha Stewart before, but I never get tired of looking at it, and oddly I haven't shared it on here yet. This room reminds me of all the summer days I spent at my grandparent's farm while I was growing up. Just so quiet and peaceful, when time seemed to do nothing but stand still.

hi erin,
for some reason the pic did not load on my computer and i was dying to see it!! :)
I did catch up a bit with your blog though and of course nothing but heavenly turquoise. YAY I want to get up and recreate some here at the villa but then I get sucked into another post.
glad you had a nice trip to Iowa and thanks for the bday wishes. hope you are not too chilly up in MN.
so beautiful and so peaceful and I know just what you mean about those days when time seemed to stand still.
Oh, for those days again...
xo
It's gorgeous!!! I love those windows!!! I just found your blog yesterday, and let me just say I am swooning over every post! I have noticed a trend in my inspiration pictures - they almost all have some shade of blue in them, so I am so happy to have found someone like me out there! I didn't even know I was that attracted to blue until I literally went through ever picture and noticed the trend. I'm so excited to see more turquoise!
love the windows!
I love these places that remind me to those peaceful days!!! I love the bed and the window and the flowers... everything is perfect!! thank you very much for your comment ;)
Martha is my hero...minus the whole tax scandal thing. I wish I could get her to come decorate my whole house...for free of course :)

Beautiful - I have never seen it!
Gentle, peaceful, absolutely purely in the moment. You said you hadn't shared this before, which makes me curious: how do you keep track of what you've shared and what you haven't?
Rose, most of the time I just remember by looking at the picture. But I'll go back and look if I'm not sure. I do repeat sometimes if I'm showing a particular color combo or theme though! I also have a file FILLED with bookmarks and my reader is starred with entries I want to remember. Then I just delete/uncheck them once I've shared them!
I still love that photo no matter how many times I have seen it. There is something special about it-it's simple, modern, clean and it meets all of a person's needs. A clean bed, a glass of water, pretty flowers from the garden no doubt, a lamp, clock and sunlight streaming through the window. It's amazing all of the things that picture captures. And of course, the creak of the floorboards. It's amazing all of the things that picture says and all of the feelings that it implies.
Martha has a wonderful way with bringing out the simplicity in things, in a modern way but yet bring us back in time.
The color is perfection...and the quiet pattern... It's just a simple and lovely room.

Love it! And just look at that simple little artwork above the bed. Nothing else is needed. Beautiful.
Aw, this space reminds me of all the home sweet home-ness that is Iowa to me, too! Lovely find, E!
